Scott McMillian is a pioneer in the field of information systems, having developed software, and designed and implemented PC-based accounting systems since 1981. With over twenty-five years of experience in the field, Scott has unparalleled knowledge of software applications, hardware, networks and operating systems in the PC-based systems arena. In addition to his business management responsibilities as President of Advanced Applications, Scott also provides training, project management and technical expertise on accounting system implementation projects. Scott has provided over 10,000 hours of instructional training on information and accounting systems to more than 300 companies throughout North America. He began his training experience as an associate instructor at the University of Texas, Austin, where he taught financial planning courses. Incorporating “Accelerated Learning Techniques” into his curriculum, Scott’s training sessions are more authentic, powerful and effective In 1987, Scott started Advanced Applications to provide information systems to clients in the oil and gas, manufacturing, distribution and field services industries. Advanced Applications is a certified Business Partner for the Sage Accpac ERP line of high-end accounting software. His professional background also includes four years with a multi-national accounting firm. During that time, he provided tax and systems-related services to clients in the real estate, oil and gas and financial services industries. Scott received a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Sciences and a Masters of Business Administration with a focus in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Microsoft SQL Certified and a Certified Solution Provider for software applications developed by Sage Software, Manufacturing Information Systems, Group AGI (ABAK Time & Billing software), and Technisoft (Service Management software).
